This is a photo of Thompson Rapids just outside of Burk’s Falls and as you can see the leaves are already starting to change. Although full colour, I think may be a couple of weeks away, I don’t believe they will last till Thanksgiving.
We had our heavy front last night so annuals in the gardens are coming to an end as well. With the fall season the Almaguin highlands becomes alive with colour contrasting against the evergreens and the dark blue of the lakes. Many of the outlying areas have pumpkins available and the shops in and around the villages are decked out in a celebration of the harvest season.
Some Almaguin Highlands businesses to check out for unique seasonal decor ideas are:
The Cutter’s Edge http://www.thecuttersedge.com/home-decor/seasonal/fall
The Garden Centre http://gardenmarketburksfalls.com/seasonal-decor-giftware/
Also make it a point to visit each of our communities throughout the Almaguin area if you are looking for colour, art, celebration and unique items for sale. Great time to book an off season cottage. Go to http://explorersedge.ca/ and discover a wonderful promotion.
Have an interesting day trip starting out early to see the mist on the lakes.! This is also a fantastic time to view cottages…make sure to give me a call to set up appointments for your viewings. What a view this would make out of your cottage window…instant stress relieve.
